Wrote this in April and had a few 'he's not going to City 🤣' replies but it has always seemed like the one move that would make sense. Don't much like the idea of having to replace two stars in one summer, though, even if it would generate a huge budget. yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/s…

Is it possible that Raphinha only wants Barca, Barca can’t afford him this summer and so he stays but we sell Phillips this summer to generate the revenue for additions?

The question is Graham are the board going to be willing to reinvest all that money. Once roca signs they've already spent over 40mil. We would need to replace kalv & raph like for like plus a striker & maybe one, two more. Are they willing to cover whats already spent.

We’ve also got another £100m for another season in PL so I’d say that covers what’s been spent already.

My source tells me it was 2 packets of cheesy Wotsits & a pickled egg, but keep it quiet ok....

The chances of replacing your two best players with same or better quality is slim to none. Its a huge risk for a team that finished where we did.

You are right Graham, the bottomless pit of money City have, soon to be followed I suspect by Newcastle means they can just pick the players they want, Leeds if they are forced to sell (Phillips wanting to go) then we should maximise what we can get, reinvestment though is key !!

On the last home game of the season a few friends of mine who know Kalvin told me the move was on the table, I tweeted it at the time, be interesting to see if he does go how much for

Likes of Leicester/Brighton etc keep it at one big player sale per season - sounds risky to me particualrly as Forshaw can only at the very most play 50% of games.
